Choosing Till Rolls
If you are already operating a cash register system in your business, but it is coming up to the time when you need to order a new batch of till rolls, don’t just trundle blindly back to your old supplier, check out our packages and prices first. Have you been having problems with your tills or till rolls, or complaints from customers that their receipts are smudged, torn, or no good for record keeping because they fade? Well all of these problems can be smoothed out with the right choice of till roll and we can help you make that choice.
First of all, you need to make sure you are using the correct sized roll for your till and this means you need to accurately measure your equipment before you reorder the wrong size. You will need measurements of both the width of the till roll, and the full diameter of the paper across the middle of a fresh roll, then check with the manuals which came with your register that this is the correct size. If you’re still not sure we can take a look at the measurements and recommend the right size for your till.
When ordering the type of till roll you need, there are just two main types – thermal paper and single or multi-ply paper. Thermal till rolls are made up of heat sensitive paper and are used in tills with a thermal print head, but it is these till rolls which can see the printouts fade over time.
Single or multi-ply till rolls are used in impact or dot matrix printers and you’ll know if your registers use impact printers because you’ll see that it uses a ribbon. You can then choose a single or multi-ply till roll depending on the number of copies your business needs of your receipts.
